Being the obsessive designers that we are, we began altering every surface of our design studio as soon as we moved in. At this point, we have re-plastered the walls, installed bamboo floors and replaced the wood door moldings with steel ones. Sometimes it feels like we are living in the middle of a mad experiment.

In our search for interesting and ecologically sound construction materials, we came across a new building material made of recycled wood chips. When we applied a layer of beeswax, the surface texture came to life. It was subtle and warm, and gave us the idea for Pastiche.
